I have gone through all the postings and documentation on integrating CRM Online with Gmail that I can find and still am having problems. Here is the basic configuration information followed by the error messages I am getting.
Profile
Name: Gmail
Server Type: Other (POP3/SMPT)
Incoming Server Location: pop.gmail.com
Outgoing Server Locatoin: smtp.gmail.com
Authenticate Using: Credentials Specified by a User or Queue
Use same settings for Outgoing: No (currently, but have used Yes and "Credentials Specified by a User or Queue" also)
Incoming Port: 995
Incoming Authentication Protocol: Basic (dropdown disabled. no other choices)
Outgoing Port: 465 (have tried 587 also)
Outgoing Authentication Protocol: Basic (dropdown disabled. no other choices)
There is no "Use SSL" option on the form, so I assume it is the default and already set for me. If this is a bad assumption, please let me know where I can set SSL for the profile.
Mailbox
Email Address: myemailaddress@gmail.com (can log in, send, receive, etc)
Is Forward Mailbox: No
Allow to User Credentials for Email Processing: Yes
Username: myemailaddress@gmail.com
Password: my verified password from plain text cut-n-paste that works when on the Gmail interface
Server Profile: Gmail
Incoming Email: Server-Side Synchronization or Email Router
Outgoing Email: Server-Side Synchronization or Email Router
Appointments, Contacts and Tasks: None
On the Gmail side, I have:
Disable forwarding
1. Status: POP is enabled for all mail that has arrived since 8:18 pm
Save changes
When I test, I get two errors (and an informational message - not included here)
1) Email cannot be received for the mailbox Clint Woods. Make sure that the credentials specified in the mailbox are correct and have sufficient permissions for receiving email. Then, enable the mailbox for email processing
2)
When using 465 for outgoing port:
A time-out error occurred while sending the email message "Test Message". The mailbox Clint Woods has been disabled for sending email and the owner of the associated email server profile GMail has been notified.

When using 587 for outgoing port:
The email message "Test Message" cannot be sent because an error occurred while establishing a secure connection to the email server. The mailbox Clint Woods has been disabled for sending email and the owner of the email server profile GMail has been notified.
