Can i setup CRM to NOT automatically make an accounting when a lead becomes an opportunity?

Hi guys, 

I think my title says it all. We handle our CRM a little differently that most people. 

We use accounts as our current customers. 

Lead are leads. 

Opportunities are our potential new customers. 

We would like an opportunity to turn into an account after it's won - and we want the company name to be the account - not the companies contact (every time a new opportunity makes/becomes an account, we have 5 different accounts for the same company because we have five contacts and etc...), this is driving me crazy.
